Book clubs are a great opportunity for seniors to meet and get to know new people from all walks of life, as well as providing an enjoyable and meaningful social event. Reading expands a person’s horizons and book clubs help to do this at an even greater level, with book discussions that can open you to different viewpoints of the world.

How does the  Cape Breton Regional Library’s
New Horizons for Seniors Book Club work?

When you join a book club, meetings will be held at your
library on a designated date,  once every 4 weeks.

The Cape Breton Regional Library will supply the books from a list of 46 great book club titles for your group  to choose from. (See book list here)

Book club books are loaned for a 4 week  period.

Book clubs can have as many  as 10 people.

Book clubs are free of charge.

Just ask at your library branch for details on book clubs.

Membership for the Cape Breton Regional Library is available free from any library branch or bookmobile, or online at www.cbrl.ca. The seniors' book clubs are made possible thanks to a generous donation from the New Horizons for Seniors Program.
