Contest Rules and Regulations
These rules and regulations apply to all contests conducted by Cape Breton Regional Library (CBRL), including those conducted online via CBRL’s website and/or social media channels.
Contests are open to all residents of Cape Breton and Victoria Counties, with the exception of current members of the CBRL Board and current employees of CBRL.
Only one entry per person is permitted for each contest unless otherwise stated. Duplicate entries will be removed from play.
Previous prize winners who have won a prize in the preceding sixty (60) day period prior to the commencement of another contest offered by CBRL are not eligible to enter or win the contest.
By participating in a contest, entrants permit Cape Breton Regional Library to publicize his or her name, entry, photograph, and/or likeness on the library’s website and/or social media platforms if they are selected as a winner.
If the selected winner is under the age of 18, a waiver must be completed by the parent or guardian for the winner to be eligible to accept the prize and to publicize the winner’s name, entry, photograph, and/or likeness on the library’s website and/or social media platforms.
Photos and publicity releases may be featured on CBRL’s website and/or social media platforms and may be used by CBRL for any future promotional and publicity purposes without further compensation.
Selection and Notification
Winners will be selected at random from all eligible entries received prior to the specified contest closing date unless otherwise stated. The odds of winning are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received. Winners will be notified within three (3) days of selection by the form/method of contact they provided when they initially entered the contest (e.g. the social media platform or contact method through which they entered the contest, including Facebook post, Instagram post, Twitter, and/or email.)
If a winner does not respond to such notification within five (5) business days and/or does not meet the stated eligibility requirements, such winner will be disqualified. CBRL reserves the right to randomly select an alternate winner from the remaining eligible entries received for the applicable promotion.
It is the responsibility of the winner to make arrangements to pick up their prize or prize voucher from a CBRL branch or service point (e.g. bookmobile or library outreach vehicle) within sixty (60) days of winning. If the winner has not picked up their prize within sixty (60) days, they forfeit their winnings.
All prizes must be accepted as awarded, are non-transferable, non-exchangeable and have no cash value.
Proper identification is required prior to receiving prize (valid driver’s license, passport, or other photo ID).
The decision CBRL makes, with respect to any dispute or issue involving the contest rules, is final and binding for all entrants.
Contests are in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
All contest rules and regulations are subject to change without prior notice.
