Down East Troubles.

Set in the fictional community of Glendoa on Rugged Island, Down East Troubles follows the story of two families who are both facing heart wrenching challenges like personal alienation, addiction and unemployment. Despite their problems, the characters are the sort you will remember well after reading this novel as their struggles are all too common in Atlantic Canada today.

About the author:

Lawrence is a retired school teacher and a former Victoria Co. Councilor. Down East Troubles is his third book, previous titles include Molly O’Brien: the Irish Famine (2015) and Ingonish Roots: historical notes, personal memories and excerpts from Victoria Council records from 1800 to present (2009).
