Shadows of Passchendaele

A hundred years ago sixteen thousand Canadians were casualties of the nightmare Great War battle for the Belgian village of Passchendaele. In ‘Shadows of Passchendaele’, Alan Livingstone MacLeod, author of Remembered in Bronze and Stone, will ¬†focus on the impact of Passchendaele in Cape Breton: particularly on the men and boys of the 185th Battalion, Cape Breton Highlanders, who fought and died, and the impact their loss had on the families they left behind on the Island.
