Residents of Cape Breton County and Victoria County can apply for a library card via our online form or at any CBRL branch. Nova Scotia residents living outside our service area can obtain a library card by visiting one of our branches and applying in person.
If you already have a card but it has expired, please contact your nearest branch or bookmobile to update your library card. If you have lost your library card, you may obtain a new one by visiting your nearest branch or bookmobile in person and paying a one dollar ($1.00) card replacement fee.

Visitors from outside of Nova Scotia who wish to borrow materials may register for a $10.00 deposit membership card. This temporary card is valid for up to one year and allows visitors to borrow a limited number of books, DVDs, and other library materials. The deposit is refunded when the temporary card is returned to the library. Public access computers and WiFi are available to all visitors free of charge.
