Get your library card and gain access to a constantly growing collection of books, audiobooks, movies, eBooks, recreational equipment and more!
Residents of Cape Breton County and Victoria County can apply via our online form or at any CBRL branch. Nova Scotia residents living outside our service area can obtain a library card by visiting one of our branches and applying in person.
- Adult Membership (14+ years old)
- Youth Membership (0 to 13 years old)
- Institutional Cards (for schools, daycares, and residential care facilities)
If you already have a card but it has expired, please phone or email the library to update your library card.
Visitors from outside of Nova Scotia who wish to borrow materials may register for a $10.00 deposit membership card. This temporary card is valid for up to one year and allows visitors to borrow a limited number of books, DVDs, and other library materials. The deposit is refunded when the temporary card is returned to the library. Public access computers and WiFi are available to all visitors free of charge.
