DOC: “MADAN SARA” by STREET TEAM PRODUCTIONS

This film by Haitian journalist Etant Dupain centers on the informal status of women in Haitian society but also their importance to that same society and how it functions.

Madan Saras deliver goods throughout the country and most times sell their goods in the public marketplaces to support their families. It is dangerous work because they are subject

to being robbed, street disruption which holds up commerce, and other dangers. Most times they are not protected by the authorities. This film amplifies the calls of the Madan Sara as they speak directly to society to share their dreams for a more just Haiti.
