Science Navigator – Summer position

  • 5 days/week 7hrs/day

Cape Breton Regional Library (CBRL) is a public library system with a mission to provide quality collections, programs, and services to all people. The Science Fun Navigator will develop and deliver quality, fun, and educational science programs to children and teens in a library setting, while working in an environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and idea-sharing.

Required Education:

  • Must be a student between 16 and 30 years of age and returning to full-time studies in the fall semester. For this position, students should be pursuing education in a science-related field.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent reading, writing, and speaking skills
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Email)
  • Comfortable making public presentations
  • Creative, innovative, and adaptable
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in group
  • Experience working with the public, children especially, will be considered an asset
  • Experience writing reports will be considered an asset
