Used Book Sales
As one of its fundraising efforts, Cape Breton Regional Library holds book sales in various library branches across the region. These sales raise much needed funds for the Library while making room for new materials. The book sales include adult and children’s books in both paperback and hardcover at very good prices. Some branches also sell audiobooks and DVDs. All proceeds of book sales are used to supplement and support library programs and services.
Donating Books & DVDs to the Used Book Sale
Cape Breton Regional Library is accepting limited donations of gently used books for our Book Sale Collection. In order to have the adequate space for quarantining items before they are made available for purchase, please consider small donations of recent best-sellers, paperbacks, and DVDs. The library is also interested in books which may have historical value especially books pertaining to local history.
Please note that we do not accept textbooks, encyclopedias, Reader’s Digest Condensed Books, VHS or cassette tapes, or any item that is in poor condition or damaged.
The library may refuse donations when storage space is not available.
Online Book Sale
CBRL also offers used books through its online book sale. These are books that have been donated and not placed in the collection, or books that have been withdrawn from our collection due to lack of use or having multiple copies.
