Babies and Books is a free, drop-in early literacy program offered by the Cape Breton Regional Library for babies (between 0-18 months) and caregivers. This program introduces babies and their caregivers to simple stories, songs, rhymes, and play and providing a mix of early literacy and social time for babies and caregivers.
Did you know that reading aloud is one of the most powerful ways to support early language development? Listening to the tone, rhythm and inflections of stories read aloud helps babies to build a sound map long before they can read. Let us help you get a head start on language and literacy in a fun and supportive environment.
As we move into a new year of Babies and Books sessions, we would like to hear from you! Have you ever been to a Babies and Books or a similar program? If so, what did you love about it, or what are some things you would like to see in the future? Take a few moments for this short survey and tell us what you think.
