Good to Know
- You have 15 tickets to use each month for watching movies from Cape Breton Regional Library on Kanopy. Tickets reset on the first of each month. Unused tickets do not roll over to the next month. Learn more about Kanopy Tickets.
- Kanopy Kids collection allows for unlimited viewing for all Kids films for 30 days after first play.
- No holds or waitlists.
- Available as an app and through your Smart TV.
Getting Started
- Go to the Library’s Kanopy website. You will need to enter your Library Card number and PIN.
- Create a Kanopy account using your email address and creating a password. The first time you create your account, a verification email will go to the email address you provided. Once you click on the link sent to the provided email address, you will need to add your Library Card number and PIN.
- If you’ve already created an account, log in using the email and password you provided. You can then search, browse, or select a film from the curated collections to watch.
- Your play credits display on the top right corner of the screen. It is not considered a play until you begin to watch the selected film.
Download the App or Watch on your Smart TV
The Kanopy app is available for iOS and Android devices
Download the app from Google Play or the Apple App Store
Download the app and then create a Kanopy account using your email address and creating a password. You can then search, browse, or select a film from the curated collections to watch.
If you have a Smart TV, you can use Kanopy as an app, or by connecting your computer to your television via HDMI.
