Library Services impacted by Canada Post Library Disruption

Due to the Canada Post labour disruption, the following library services will be temporarily unavailable for the duration of the strike:

Holds

You can only place holds on materials owned by Cape Breton Regional Library. You cannot request any items from other SamePage libraries or any interlibrary loans. Don’t worry CBRL still has an extensive collection spread out across 11 branches and our local delivery drivers will ensure all your holds on CBRL items are delivered.

Overdue Notices

Library notices that are typically sent by mail, such as overdue or lost item notifications, will be sent via email. To ensure you continue to receive important notices without interruption, we encourage users to confirm that the email address listed on their library account is accurate and up-to-date. You may review your contact information by visiting our online catalogue or contacting your local branch.

Online Card Applications

Online library card registration is unavailable. Community members interested in obtaining a library card can visit their local branch to apply.

CELA materials

CELA will not be able to send library materials in the mail during the labour disruption. If you regularly receive CELA materials in the mail and would like to pick up accessible materials at your branch instead, please contact your local branch to make arrangements.

Services will resume once the Canada Post labour disruption is resolved. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
