McConnell Movie Marathon – Teen Edition

Join McConnell staff for a cinematic double-feature afternoon at your local library!

 12pm – “The Dark Crystal” (1982): In this groundbreaking fantasy epic from Jim Henson and Frank Oz, the peaceful world of Thra is threatened by the evil Skeksis, who rule through the power of the shattered Dark Crystal. A young Gelfling named Jen embarks on a quest to restore the crystal and fulfill an ancient prophecy. Along the way, he encounters mystical creatures and allies, including the brave Kira.  2pm – “Labyrinth” (1986): David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly invite you into a magical universe where nothing is what it seems! Babysitting infant stepbrother Toby on a weekend night isn’t young Sarah’s idea of fun. Frustrated by his crying, she secretly imagines the Goblins from her favorite book, Labyrinth, carrying Toby away. When her fantasy comes true, a distraught Sarah must enter a maze of illusion to bring Toby back from a kingdom inhabited by mystical creatures and governed by the wicked Goblin King.
