You may have noticed that construction is underway in downtown Sydney.
As part of the third and final phase of the redevelopment project,
Charlotte Street from Wentworth Street to Townsend Street will be closed
to vehicular traffic until August 2024. Sidewalks will remain open
during this time.
While we are enthusiastic about what this redevelopment project holds
for downtown, we understand that library members and visitors may experience
some difficulties when making their way to the McConnell Library this
spring and summer. At times, some side streets may be temporarily closed
to vehicular traffic and parking may be limited. Please be assured that
the McConnell Library and CBRL headquarters office will remain open and
fully operational throughout this time. The library’s team is committed
to providing service to our community members, and we are taking all
necessary measures to ensure that access to our building is maintained
throughout the construction period.
