McConnell Movie Morning

Spend a cozy morning at the McConnell library on your day off from school to watch some movies!

‘The Kite’ (13 mins.) ~ Summer is coming to an end, the fruit is growing ripe on the trees. Grandpa gives his Grandson a kite. As the boy is tossed around in the air, Grandpa catches him. Then the leaves fall and Grandpa has grown weak. A strong autumn wind carries him off into the cloudy sky. Winter comes, then springtime. A warm breeze brings them together again. Told with enchanting, richly-textured images, this tale is about remembering those who are no longer with us.

‘Litterbugs’ (15 mins.) ~ Helped by her self-made flying mechanical creatures, a young inventor and a pint-sized superhero defeat the town bullies and find an unexpected friendship.

‘The Last Unicorn’ (1hr 32 mins.) ~ In this animated musical, the villainous King Haggard plots to destroy all the world’s unicorns. When a young unicorn learns that she’s in danger and that she may soon be the last of her kind, she leaves the safety of her protected forest and enlists the help of Schmendrick, a gentle, albeit clumsy, sorcerer. Together, they embark on a long and dangerous journey with one goal: to defeat Haggard and save the unicorns from extinction.
