Art Exhibition: Opening Reception | Sydney
Please join us in celebrating the launch of Hand Papermaking in Libraries: Connecting Art, Stories, and Communities. Over the past year, CBRL has been working with hand papermaker and artist Kristi Farrier to bring this community art project to life, thank to the generous support of Arts Nova Scotia.
Kristi Farrier, of Flying Finch Studio, makes paper from plants and repurposed textiles and transforms them into beautiful and useful objects. In the spring, she taught 37 participants at library-hosted workshops in Sydney, Main-a-Dieu, Baddeck and Glace Bay how to make paper from their own upcycled textiles and create works of art that tell their story.
Join us at the opening reception from 6-8pm on Thursday, June 6th, from 6-8pm to view the paper art creations and enjoy catered refreshments.
All are welcome!
