Join Katherine & William, mother & son and co-authors of the picture book The Adventures of Guillaume Batisseur: The Wishing Well a story set in 18th century Fortress Louisbourg.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS: Katherine Jones and her three children, William and twins, Molly and Myles, live in picturesque Albert Bridge, close to Fortress Louisbourg. They enjoy exploring nature and historical sites together.

Katherine is a Biology professor at Cape Breton University and has won National Awards for Science Communication and Outreach. This book was inspired by a desire to commemorate William’s early love for History – especially Fortress Louisbourg. They were fortunate to be gifted an overnight at the Lartigue House at the Fortress from Parks Canada and the Fortress of Louisbourg Association in 2023 due to William building a replica of the Fortress out of LEGO®and doing some media interviews. It was that night around the bonfire at the Lartigue House that they came up with the idea for The Adventures of Guillaume Batisseur.
