Seniors Grant Day

If you are a senior and would like help filling out a Heat Fund grant, Home Warming assistance, or Home Repair assistance you can visit the New Waterford Library with your paperwork on Friday, February 16th for help.

Helpers will be available all-day except over the lunch hour (12-1pm).

This event is organized by MLA Kendra Coombes and hosted by the library.

Helpful tips: To apply for the Heat Fund grant you will need to bring: a valid ID for all household residents; bank statements or pay stubs for household residents (1 or 2 months); Renters need to bring landlord’s name and phone #; and a heating bill with the supplier’s name, phone # and an account #.

To apply for Home Warming Assistance you will need to bring: a copy of recent Notice of Assessment for each household member over 18 and a Property Tax Assessment, or Property Tax Bill, or Bill of Sale.

To apply for Home Repair Assistance you will need to bring: a copy of previous year’s income tax for all household members 16+; proof of income – all income sources (i.e. T4 slips); proof of owning and occupying home (Property Tax Bill, Property Tax Assessment); Mobile homeowners include proof of purchase or bill of sale and if land is leased, include a copy of the lease.
