Transgender Awareness Week

Transgender Awareness Week, also known as Trans Awareness Week, is observed annually from November 13-19. The week leads up to the Transgender Day of Remembrance on November 20, a day to memorialize victims of transphobic hate crimes.

Trans Awareness Week provides an opportunity to focus attention on the stories and experiences of transgender and gender diverse people and communities to bring awareness, education, and change to the issues they face.

Library staff have compiled several new book lists to learn more about the experiences of trans and gender diverse people. Whether you are looking for educational resources, inspiring memoirs, or fictional, fun reads, we have something at the library for you.
