Books and Backroads: CBC Book Club

CBC Radio’s Books and Backroads will be coming to Cape Breton this summer! Seven libraries across the Maritimes will host a book club on a book with a local focus, or written by a Maritime author.
Book Club discussions will be taped and featured on morning shows in the Maritimes throughout the summer.
Louisbourg Library will be the venue for a book club discussion on The Spoon Stealer, by Lesley Crewe (winner of the Jim Connors Dartmouth Book Award for fiction in 2021)
Book Club host: One of our local CBC voices – Steve Sutherland from Information Morning.
If you are interested in joining this one-off book club event you need to:
– register by emailing tmacneil@cbrl.ca , or calling 902-562-2013 (only 10 spots available!)
-read ‘The Spoon Stealer’ by local author Lesley Crewe. Copies of the book available for participants.
-Be willing and available to chat with the other book club members at the Louisbourg Library on Tuesday, July 7th at 6pm. This session will be taped for radio.
There will be a meet & greet with the CBC team ahead of the Book Club discussion (5-6pm) – You are welcome to drop-in. Light refreshments will be served.
